Leeds United sit in third spot and are just two points adrift of Championship leaders, Norwich City but level on 64 points with second placed Sheffield United ahead of Friday’s massive encounter with West Brom.
It looks like anyone’s title right now as the top three battle it out for the two automatic promotion spots and it comes down to which club can hold their nerve as we head into the final straight of the Championship season.
For their part, Leeds have stumbled towards the finish line with just four league wins from their last nine matches overall in the second tier which were victories against Derby County, Rotherham United, Swansea City and Bolton Wanderers, but none of the aforementioned teams are situated in the top six like West Brom.
Leeds have won three of their last four at home with wins over Derby, Swansea and Bolton amidst an overall solid home record of 11-3-3 28/15 but the hosts have also lost two of their last five at Elland Road as they’ve suffered losses to Hull City and Norwich City in recent times too.

West Brom have also had problems in stringing consistent results together as the season approaches the ‘business end’ of things with just 12 matches of the season remaining, particularly at The Hawthorns as The Baggies are without a home win for five matches.
This ordinary form on home soil has seen West Brom slump to defeats against Middlesbrough and Sheffield United, as well as being held to draws by Sheffield Wednesday, Norwich City and Nottingham Forest.
However, away from The Hawthorns, West Brom have veritably flourished away from the pressure and weight of expectation of their home supporters as they’ve registered four away wins on the trot with victories chalked up at Bolton Wanderers, Stoke City, Aston Villa and QPR, winning 2-0, 1-0, 2-0 and 3-2 respectively.
The Baggies also embarked upon a previous four-match winning streak with wins at Ipswich Town, Swansea City, Sheffield United and Rotherham United which was temporarily halted by a 2-1 loss at Blackburn Rovers, so the visitors have won eight of their last nine on their travels.
