Middlesbrough Preview – Can Middlesbrough use home advantage?

New Middlesbrough manager, Neil Warnock, saw his great start at his new club turn on its head very quickly as Middlesbrough were handed a 2-1 defeat away from home against fellow strugglers, Hull City, after making a winning start in the north-east with a previous 2-0 win on the road at Stoke City.

Middlesbrough sit just outside the relegation zone being one league position and one point above third from bottom outfit, Stoke City, but they return to the Riverside Stadium for this upcoming clash against QPR on Sunday which will be Warnock’s first game in charge of Boro at home.

Warnock will be facing one of his (many) former clubs in QPR, and his first task will be to get all three points on home turf for Boro as the hosts head into this encounter without a home win from their last seven matches amidst an overall home record of 6-8-6 18/22.

However, four draws within these last seven matches suggest Boro aren’t too far from breaking their drought at the Riverside Stadium.

Both teams to score

QPR Preview – Can QPR halt losing streak?

QPR may well be wishing the Championship season hadn’t restarted as they’ve suffered three defeats on the trot since the resumption of the season with defeats being handed to them by Barnsley, Charlton Athletic and Fulham respectively.

The visitors are another side that have under-performed against expectations in this season’s Championship as the London club currently occupy a disappointing 15th place in the second tier, and with just one win out of their last nine matches on the road, this looks a tough trip for QPR this Sunday.

Their one success during this lean period on their travels was a surprising 3-1 win at Preston North End but they’ve also tasted defeat in six of these last nine away matches too, within an overall away record of 6-3-10 21/30.
