We hunt down the best odds and give you our top tips for this intriguing Championship clash.

Millwall Preview – Will the Lions stretch unbeaten run?

Millwall moved up to 11th before the international break with an excellent win at Barnsley. That followed on nicely from their 1-0 home success over Bristol City.

The London side have once again been tough to beat, but they have drawn too many games at the start of this season. Gary Rowett’s boys have drawn six of their opening 11, which is the most in the division. On a more positive note, they are unbeaten in the league since losing at Cardiff City in late August.

Our betting prediction:
Both teams to score
5/6

Millwall are seven matches undefeated in the Championship, winning three and drawing four. They will be hoping to extend that run to eight with three points on home turf on Saturday. The hosts are priced at 13/10.

Luton Town Preview – Can the Hatters leave London with a positive result?

Nathan Jones’ Luton Town had an excellent campaign last time around, and the Hatters started this season with two wins from their opening three. However, just one victory has followed.

Like Millwall, Luton have also been tough to beat of late. In fact, a 2-1 loss at current leaders Bournemouth last month remains their only reverse since August. After that narrow defeat at the Vitality Stadium, Luton stunned in-form Coventry City at Kenilworth Road, thumping the Sky Blues 5-0. They then drew 0-0 at home with Huddersfield Town.

Luton have picked up just one away league win this term, but only West Bromwich Albion and Bournemouth – the current top two – have secured home wins against the Bedfordshire boys. Can Town leave London with the points this Saturday (21/10)?

Millwall vs Luton Town Betting Advice

On paper, these two teams look pretty evenly matched. When they last met, the pair drew 1-1 at Kenilworth Road back in February, with George Evans’ late goal rescuing a point for Millwall after Elijah Adebayo had opened the scoring ten minutes after the break. The Lions won 2-0 in the game at The Den in October 2020.

Key Facts – Millwall vs Luton Town Betting Tip

  • Millwall have suffered just two Championship defeats so far
  • The Hatters have drawn five of their previous seven in the league
  • Luton have not won at The Den since 1999

As we touched on, these two seem hard to split, and one goal could be enough to settle it at The Den this Saturday. Home advantage could give Rowett’s boys the slight edge, so take a punt on Millwall to win by one at 11/4.

Jed Wallace scored the only goal of the game in Millwall’s last home fixture, giving the Lions a precious three points over Bristol City. The 27-year-old has hit four Championship goals for his club so far this season. Put some money on Wallace to notch anytime on Saturday at 9/4.
