Napoli Preview – Can Napoli consolidate top six spot?
At the time of writing, Napoli currently sit in 6th place but level on points with 7th placed AC Milan prior to this weekend’s fixtures but Napoli have put together a four-match unbeaten run into this clash and have suffered just the one defeat out of their last 10 matches overall.
That defeat came in the shape of a 2-0 defeat away from home at in-form Atalanta but within this 10-match sequence Napoli have collected seven wins which have maintained their place in the top six and three of these have been captured on home turf at their Stadio San Paolo with wins against Torino, SPAL and most impressive of all, a 2-1 win over Roma.
Napoli’s overall home record stands at an inconsistent looking 7-3-6 24/22 but the hosts have steadied the ship of late with their four-match unbeaten run having won three of these, and they hold a good record against Udinese as they’ve won the last seven meetings on the trot at home against their Sunday’s visitors.
Udinese Preview – Can Udinese steer clear of trouble?
Sunday’s visitors, Udinese, occupy a lowly 16th place on the Serie A ladder and hold a seemingly comfortable seven-point cushion above third from bottom side, Lecce, but they’ll still be nervously looking over their shoulders as the visitors have managed just two wins out of their last 14 matches overall.
This poor sequence of results include six defeats but perhaps the glimmer of hope for Udinese is that both of their wins during this period were both collected on the road at Roma and SPAL in 2-0 and 3-0 victories respectively, but these may be the exception rather than the rule as Udinese possess a fairly poor looking away record which stands at 4-3-9 16/26.
