Chris Wilder takes his Middlesbrough troops to Deepdale this Saturday to face Ryan Lowe’s Preston North End. Boro can still sneak into the play-offs, but they must win in Lancashire to stand any chance of that happening. They lost their last one at Deepdale, but North End are generally a tough nut to crack on home turf. With a lot at stake for Middlesbrough, this promises to be an entertaining fixture. Preston North End Preview – Will the Robins suffer a fourth straight home loss?

Since taking over at Deepdale, Ryan Lowe has done a decent job with this Preston North End team. The former Plymouth Argyle boss will now relish the opportunity to bring in his own players in the summer and kick on. If results go their way this weekend, the Lancashire club can secure a top-half finish.

After taking just one point from a possible seven, Preston got back to winning ways last weekend. They were too strong for relegated Barnsley at Oakwell, with goals from Daniel Johnson (2) and Emil Ris Jakobsen giving North End a comfortable 3-1 away victory.

Our betting prediction:
Both teams to score

Considering that many bookies had them down for a relegation scrap before a ball was kicked, Preston have had a pretty fine season in the Championship. Can they end it with a win on Saturday?

Middlesbrough Preview – Can Boro do their bit?

Chris Wilder’s Middlesbrough are still in a with a shout of finishing in the play-offs. Before the final round of games, Boro are in seventh position with 70 points to their name, two points behind sixth-place Luton Town.

Middlesbrough must win their final game and hope for favours elsewhere to break into the top six at the eleventh hour. If Luton fail to beat Reading, Boro will sneak in. Also, if Sheffield United lose to champions Fulham, three points at Deepdale will be enough.
