Reading Preview – Royals to return to winning ways?

Veljko Paunovic has had a fine first season at the Madejski Stadium up until now. Reading are sitting pretty in fifth spot after 28 games played, winning 50% of their league matches. The Royals are eight points clear of seventh-place Middlesbrough. They will be hoping to end their season in the top six.

On Wednesday night, Reading were beaten at home by rampant Brentford, who moved to the top of the table and extended their undefeated league run to 21. Before then, however, the Berkshire club had gone seven league encounters without defeat, winning four and drawing three.

Our betting prediction:

After the midweek loss to in-form Brentford, Reading will be hoping to hit back with all three points at the first time of asking at the weekend. Paunovic’s troops can be a tough nut to crack at the Madejski, and the bookies have the home win nicely priced at 6/5.

Millwall Preview – Can Rowett’s men to extend unbeaten run?

Millwall have had a rollercoaster of a season so far. The Lions recently picked up just one win from 15 league games, but they head to the Madejski Stadium unbeaten in five. In recent weeks, Millwall have won two and drawn three.

After consecutive Championship draws with Watford, Cardiff City and Norwich City, the Lions thumped Sheffield Wednesday 4-1 last time out, with Kenneth Zohore, Scott Malone, Ben Thompson and Mahlon Romeo getting the goals. That was only Millwall’s second home win of the season.

Despite their 14th-place position, Millwall have a good record on the road this season. The London side have won five, drawn five and lost four of 14 away league matches, with only six clubs picking up more away points thus far. Can the Lions roar to a sixth away victory of their league season on Saturday?

Reading vs Millwall Betting Advice

As we mentioned, Millwall have struggled at home this term, but Rowett’s troops did manage to hold Reading to a draw at The Den back in November. Jed Wallace opened the scoring on the stroke of half time, with Lucas Joao levelling for the Royals in an eventual 1-1 draw. In the Last fixture between the two at the Madejski, Reading won 2-1.

Key Facts – Reading vs Millwall Betting Tip

  • Reading had won four and drawn three of seven in the league before the midweek loss
  • Millwall are unbeaten in five in the Championship, winning two and drawing three
  • The Royals have won three of their previous four at home

Reading had sealed successive league home wins over Luton Town, Coventry City and Bournemouth before Wednesday’s defeat to Brentford. Millwall have picked up of late, but we fancy the hosts to nick the points on Saturday. Back the Reading win at 6/5.

Reading have won to nil on six occasions in this season’s Championship. At the tempting price of 9/4, take a punt on Paunovic’s team to win without conceding here.
