Xisco Munoz’s Watford and Steve Cooper’s Swansea City meet at Vicarage Road in EFL Championship action on Saturday afternoon. The Hornets are already in next season’s Premier League after securing automatic promotion, while the Swans will be hoping to join them as they gear up for the play-offs. There is nothing riding on this, but we should see an entertaining affair in Hertfordshire. We have the latest odds and best tips.

Watford Preview – Hornets to make it nine home wins on the bounce?

Watford missed out on the Championship title after last weekend’s results, but the Hornets have secured promotion back to the Premier League at the first time of asking. Xisco Munoz has done an exceptional job since arriving, taking Watford to 88 points.

Watford’s 2-0 loss at Brentford last weekend was only their fifth Championship reverse under Munoz. The Hornets have won 11 of 12 home league matches under their new boss. In fact, the Hertfordshire club have the best home record in the division by far, accumulating a staggering 56 points on their own patch.

Having won eight in a row at home since a rare defeat to Queens Park Rangers in February, Watford will want to finish their season with a ninth consecutive home victory here.

Swansea City Preview – Will the Swans warm up for the play-offs with three points?

Swansea City have had another superb season in the Championship, with the popular Steve Cooper guiding the Welsh club to the play-offs for the second season running. Although their automatic promotion bid come up short, finishing in the top six would have been the priority.

City are in patchy form, with last Saturday’s 2-1 home win over relegation-threatened Derby County ending a run of three without victory (two draws, one defeat). Swansea have been good on the road of late, though, taking seven points from their last three away matches.

Swansea will play either Barnsley or Bournemouth in the end-of-season lottery known as the play-offs. They will be hoping to end their season in fourth, two places higher than last term.

Watford vs Swansea City Betting Advice

Munoz has not lost many since arriving at Vicarage Road. However, Watford crashed to a narrow defeat in South Wales when the pair met in the reverse league matchup in early January. Despite Tom Cleverley giving Watford a 20th-minute lead at the Liberty Stadium, Jamal Lowe scored twice to win the points for the Welsh side.

Key Facts – Watford vs Swansea City Betting Tip

  • The last four Watford vs Swansea meetings have ended 2-1
  • The Hornets have racked up 56 home points this season
  • Only Norwich City and Brentford have won more away points than the Swans

Swansea have been solid on their travels this season, winning half of their 22 away league matches. Champions Norwich and third-place Brentford are the only teams to have accumulated more away points.

Watford have been imperious at home all season long, but we fancy Cooper’s Swans to return to Wales with a point ahead of their play-off campaign. The pair are likely to net in this one, so take a punt on the draw and both teams to score at 15/4.

Jamal Lowe has slowly but surely settled in at Swansea. The striker, who bagged a brace in the reverse meeting, has been in good form lately, netting five in his last six. Lowe is priced at 13/2 to open the scoring here.
