We round off the action on Monday night with a Championship clash between high-flying West Brom and bottom half outfit Brentford as the betting tips continue at The Hawthorns.
West Brom weren’t in action on the weekend but they come into this encounter looking to register a fourth win on the trot in the Championship following three previous wins over Leeds United 4-1, Ipswich Town 2-1 and Swansea City 2-1.
The latter two results were both away from home while their demolition of Leeds United was a crucial win and another three points here would see The Baggies move within two points of the second placed Yorkshire club.
West Brom hold a pretty good record at home so far in the Championship with figures of 6-1-2 26/13 and they’re also the highest goalscorers at home in the division to date. This is perhaps no surprise as they possess a number of quality personnel such as Phillips (5 goals) and Barnes (7 goals) in midfield as well as forwards Gayle and Rodriguez (9 goals each) and Robson-Kanu (3 goals).
18th placed Brentford therefore look to have their work cut out ahead of their trip to the west midlands for this Monday night clash, particularly as they’ve lost 6 of their last 7 matches overall in the Championship.
The season started in positive fashion for Brentford who suffered just one defeat in their first eight league matches of the new campaign which included wins over Rotherham United, Sheffield Wednesday, Nottingham Forest and Wigan Athletic.
However, since the Wigan win, The Bees have been largely ineffective as they’ve picked up just one more win from their subsequent 12 matches which was a 2-0 win over London rivals, Millwall.
Brentford are still yet to record an away win within a poor record of 0-4-5 11/17 which includes four defeats from their last five on the road.
