One of the later kick-offs on Tuesday evening sees a top half clash between West Brom and Bristol city as the betting tips continue in the Championship at The Hawthorns.
West Brom earned another point towards their promotion campaign on Friday night when they drew 1-1 away at west midlands rivals, Birmingham City at St Andrews in the televised match. It was perhaps a fair result for Darren Moore’s side who extended their unbeaten run to three matches in all competitions.
A 2-1 home win over Mansfield Town in the League Cup was followed by a 2-1 home win over Stoke City in the Championship, and a battling point against Birmingham City means that all three points in tonight’s clash against Bristol City would see The Baggies move level on points with tonight’s visitors.
Midfielder Phillips and forward Rodriguez (4 goals apiece) along with forward Gayle (3 goals) are West Brom’s main goal threats.
Onto Bristol City and the visitors racked up a fourth win on the trot on Saturday afternoon with a 1-0 home win over Sheffield United which kept the Robins in touch with Leeds United and Brentford at the top of the table.
Previous wins over QPR, Swansea City and Blackburn Rovers have helped lift the west country outfit into the early automatic promotion positions in the second tier, but this is perhaps reminiscent of Bristol City’s good start in the first stages of last season.
The visitors found themselves in the play-off positions this time last season but results and momentum fell away as the season wore on, so perhaps we need to wait a little while longer to see if the Robins can sustain their current levels of form.
This will certainly be Bristol City’s biggest test yet on the road following a draw at bolton Wanderers and back-to-back wins at QPR and Swansea City to date.
