Brazil v South Korea Olympic football betting is the second of the London 2012 semi finals. Tournament favourites Brazil had a battle on their hands in their quarter final match, as they had to endure and overcome a strong start by Honduras. The Hondurans had taken an early lead just after the 12 minute mark, but they shot themselves in the foot it seemed, when Wilmer Cristiano was red carded around the half hour mark and Brazil equalised less than ten minutes later. But it was Honduras who regained the lead after the restart before Neymar and Damiao put the Brazilians back in front and they managed to hold on to that. Honduras went down to nine men at the end of the match after Roger Espinoza picked up a second yellow card on ninety minutes. Despite Brazil just having 56% of possession in the game, but it was quite an evenly matched affair with Honduras not looking as if they were afraid of the South Americans.

Brazil will be favourites at Old Trafford to take victory in the semi final, and they should grow from their trails against Honduras. That was the first time that Brazil really were pushed hard during the tournament, the only times they have looked vulnerable before was when they had taken their foot off the gas. The South Americans turned in a very disjointed and below-par display, but everyone knows that they are better than that. Brazil have a great fluidity between midfield and attack when they get a grip on games, and with Neymar netting three tournament goals and Leandro Damiao with four, Brazil have plenty of goals in them. No-one else in the final four are going to match the kind of goals that Brazil can produce. Brazil have scored twelve goals in their four matches, topping their group with three wins from three. It could all be a bit too much for South Korea, who haven’t impressed too much in front of goal.

South Korea had a dramatic win against Great Britain in the quarter finals. Going up against the host nation was never going to be easy, but the Koreans put in a solid performance to take control of the game on the half hour mark. They did concede two penalties during the regulation 90 minutes, with Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsey converting one and missing the second opportunity. While South Korea had very good patches of the game where they were on top of Great Britain, by the end, in extra time, they were the side which were happier to get to penalties as the hosts put on the pressure. South Korea created just as many efforts as goal as Great Britain, but they did concede a lot of possession and if that happens against Brazil, it will be hared to see them getting into the game and causing any threat. South Korea qualified in second place behind Mexico, managing just two goals for a tournament total of three goals in four games. That is not going to stand up against the forward power of Brazil and the question will be, do they have enough of a defensive effort to keep out Brazil for 90 minutes.
