Goshen

The form is with Goshen as he lines up as the 3/1 favourite for the Triumph Hurdle* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 03:05 GMT on Thursday, 12th March 2020). He has translated his great form on the flat over to the hurdles.

It has been three straight wins over the hurdles for Goshen who has an official rating of 151. There should be no issues with the distance for him and even though he has been going up through the weights he’s looked so impressive.

He has great power and he likes to lead from the front where he is bold and competitive. His last run was at Ascot in mid-January and he is the one to beat.

Solo

Paul Nicholls has Solo in the race and he has a bit of form as well, does the French charge. He has had just the one run on British soil, which was a 2m Kempton success in late February.

That was a great win for him as well in a Grade 2 contest in which he took down Adonis. He looks to have a great competitive engine and a stack of potential on his side. With a distance win under his belt, Solo is a 10/3 option in Triumph Hurdle betting* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 03:05 GMT on Thursday, 12th March 2020).

Key Facts – JCB Triumph Hurdle Betting Tip

  • 5 of the last 7 winners had placed in the Spring Juvenile at Leopardstown
  • Jockey Barry Geraghty has won the race 5 times
  • 11 of the last 15 winners have been from the top four in the betting market

Allmankind

David Skelton’s Allmankind has taken three wins from three of the hurdles as he heads to Cheltenham. It’s been impressive stuff as he was struggling a little bit on the flat before that.

On his last trip which was at Chepstow in December, he took the win in a field which contained Cerberus.

Allmankind has also had a taste of victory at Cheltenham too with a November win at Prestbury Park. He has to be in it at 4/1* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 03:05 GMT on Thursday, 12th March 2020)

Aspire Tower

Aspire Tower is another with a solid flat footing behind him who has made the switch to the hurdles. He totally crushed the field at Leopardstown over a 2m trip on Boxing Day. He was back at course and distance in early February and fell as the favourite.

Aspire Tower looks as if he may fancy a run from the front which will be interesting to see how he handles Goshen. Still, a nice 6/1 consideration* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 03:05 GMT on Thursday, 12th March 2020).

Sir Psycho

Paul Nicholls comes in with another decent contender alongside Solo. Bryony Frost takes the ride for him on Sir Psycho who has been progressing over hurdles quite nicely. He has won three of his five cush trips.

Sir Psycho won’t be worried about the trip having won an extended 2m at Exeter on New Year’s Day.

He was last out at Haydock in mid-February and warmed up well with a win and had a very nice turn of speed on the flat to the finish and has appeal at 12/1* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 03:05 GMT on Thursday, 12th March 2020).

Worthy mentions

Navajo Pass claimed a win at Doncaster over the hurdles. That is two wins in three hurdle races for him now. That was a Grade 2 win at Doncaster and not the strongest of the field to be fair. If he gets his jumping right, there are decent outsider place claims there.

Cerberus has the potential to cause some problems in this field with the right temperament. He should have won a Grade 1 at Leopardstown after being in front after the last. He never found his final top gear after benefitting from Aspire Towers fall. He was also second to Allmankind at Chepstow in December.

Predictions & Tips

One question for the JCB Triumph Hurdle betting. Can anyone get past Goshen? The thing with him is that he is likely to hit the front and dictate and is not going to be pushed around.

You can look at very decent claims from Solo and Allmankind in particular in the race and still not see enough to see Goshen come unravelled. He’s a strong favourite and can’t be passed on.

The outsider chance will go towards Sir Psycho who looked more than capable of getting to the places because of his progression over the hurdles.
