Willie Mullins’ stable won the first four stagings of the Daylesford (formerly the Dawn Run) Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle, though it was won by a 50/1 chance 12 months ago after favourites won the first three.
It’s a Grade 2 event run over 2m and one of the more recent additions to The Festival. It’s also one of the more low-key races, though is still worth more than £50,000 to winning connections.

Progressive Dolcita may be Mullins pick
Bidding to maintain a perfect record in the short history of this contest, Willie Mullins has four runners.
DOLCITA was the outsider of his stable’s three runners in the Grade 3 won by Minella Melody at Fairyhouse in January but arguably displayed the most promise in finishing third, just behind favourite Colreevy.
That was just her second start over hurdles so there should be plenty more to come, though the trainer will be hoping his jockey are more attuned than in Tuesday’s Mares’ Hurdle.
Robbie Power’s mount may be the one to be on at the general 7/1. Minella Melody is the 3/1 favourite with 888sport and Colreevy is also a best 7/1.
Floressa should strip fitter today
Considering it was her first outing in almost two months, Floressa ran well behind the more-experienced pair Lady Buttons and Irish Roe at Doncaster.
She’d been unlucky not to have rattled up a hat-trick before Christmas in novice company having just lost out in her second run at Newbury having been hampered.
The drying ground will help Nicky Henderson’s mare, who is a general 6/1 but will have to defy a penalty.
Ard looks a forlorn hope under penalty
Ard Abhainn also has to carry 5lb extra having won a Listed race at Thurles last time.
She is 14/1 with Unibet but we can’t see how she will reverse earlier Punchestown running with Minella Melody and Mount Ida.
