The fifth round is the stage at which the Super League clubs hit the road to Wembley, but only four of them. The teams that finished in places 1-8 in the regular season last year, including defending champions Warrington Wolves, will enter the draw in round six.

The Wolfpack, who haven’t managed a single pint at the time of writing in their first season in Super League, were initially drawn at home against the Giants but the tie will now be played at the John Smith’s Stadium. The Canadian club’s first-ever competitive match was in the Challenge Cup as recently as 2017. They’ve obviously made giant strides but didn’t play in the competition as a Championship club last year as the Rugby League were demanding a bond to ensure they fulfilled fixtures.

Minnows seeking a place in the last 16

Toronto against Huddersfield (50/1 with Boylesports) is the only all-Super League tie of the round. Hull KR will host current Championship leaders Leigh Centurions at Craven Park while Wakefield Trinity will take on fallen giants Bradford.

Featherstone Rovers against Hunslet is a local derby which should attract a decent crowd while the winners of the postponed tie between Whitehaven and Dewsbury Rams will travel to Newcastle Thunder.

St Helens, whose only failure last season came at Wembley in the Challenge Cup Final, are market leaders at 3/1 with Boylesports with Wigan Warriors are a best 4/1. Warrington, who have reached the final in three of the last four years, are a best 9/2 with Sportingbet.
