Thursday brings us match day two of the Europa League and Group F features early group leaders, AC Milan, taking on Olympiakos as the betting tips continue in Europe.
Following their match day one 1-0 win away at Luxembourg outfit F91 Dudelange, AC Milan now have a great opportunity to further extend their lead at the top of the group when they take on Olympiakos at their Stadio Giuseppe Meazza on Thursday night.
Milan are unbeaten in their last six matches overall in all competitions which includes wins over Roma and Sassuolo in Serie A along with the aforementioned Europa League win at F91 Dudelange.
Looking at AC Milan’s home form in the Europa League and you’ll see that the hosts have lost just once in their last 17 matches which was a 2-0 loss to Arsenal back in March. The home side are now a different outfit under Gennaro Gattuso though and they look in good shape ahead of this clash with the likes of Higuain and Suso up front along with a midfield consisting of Bonaventura, Kessie and Biglia.
Olympiakos opened their account with a point against Real Betis in a 0-0 draw but they’ll be mindful that they need to get something from this match in order to stay in touch with AC Milan and in turn keep Real Betis at bay.
The visitors come into this clash on the back of a 1-0 defeat at home to PAOK in the Greek Super League though, and they now face a tricky trip to Milan for match day two. Although they’ve recently put together a 12-match unbeaten run ahead of their loss to PAOK, Olympiakos’s results away from home have been mixed.
Olympiakos have won just 4 of their last 11 on their travels in the Europa League and have lost at APOEL and Besiktas in recent times – this could be a tall order for the visitors therefore to get anything out of this encounter.
