Arguably the greatest UFC fighter of all time, Amanda Nunes is back in action on the weekend. This is UFC 250 and she is the headlining act, being touted as the G.O.A.T.

She puts her UFC featherweight title on the line in his next fight. Opposing her in the octagon will be former Invicta FC champion, Felicia Spencer.

Can Nunes continue her reign?

The UFC stays in Las Vegas for a second weekend running. This weekend’s card is much bigger and better than the one from 7 days ago. This joint headliner bout is Amanda Nunes v Felicia Spencer.

This is for the featherweight title and Nunes is on a red-hot 10-fight winning streak. Every former fighter that had held the bantamweight title or the featherweight belt, Nunes has picked off in this streak.

The last time that Nunes defended the featherweight title was against Cris Cyborg in December 2018. Nunes stopped her opponent with a knockout punch with less than a minute on the clock.

There have been two fights for the dual-division champion since then for Nunes.

She defended the bantamweight title against Holly Holm and followed up in December last year with a defence against Germaine de Randamie.

Nunes has not lost since 2014 when Cat Zingano stopped her by a knockout. There is just no weakness in the game of Nunes.

On her feet, she carries a massive threat as she is so quick and powerful. She’s lethal on the ground as well.

Across her ten-fight winning streak, Nunes has taken five knockouts as well as three submissions.

There is a strong likelihood that this won’t go the distance. Nunes is a closer. She will find a way to finish the job one way or another.

Can Spencer produce a stunning upset?

The UFC debut for Canada’s Felicia Spencer happened in May 2019 when she took a submission against Megan Anderson. Then at UFC last summer came the biggest moment of her career.

Spencer was beaten on a unanimous decision against Cris Cyborg but did show some grit. Spencer’s third fight in the UFC was against Zarah Fairns Dos Santos in late February.

Spencer settled that in the first round by a TKO taking her professional record to 8-1.

It was back in November 2018 when she won the vacant Invicta FC Featherweight Championship that put her on the map.

But you stand up her 9-bout career against the 24 fights from Nunes (19-4) and it’s hard to see a way into this for Spencer.

It looks as if could be too much too early for the Canadian.

Spencer looks as if she is going to come up short in every department in this one.

Even if it was someone like Aspen Ladd, Julianna Peña or Irene Aldana coming in instead of Spencer, we’d likely be saying the same things.

Spencer’s is likely going to be stronger on the ground than on her feet, coming from a wrestling background perhaps.

But she is taking on the master in this one and Spencer is lacking the experience at the top end of the UFC.

To her credit though she never backed down in that contest against Cris Cyborg. But it’s going to be tough to stick in there against the quicker, more powerful Nunes.

Amanda Nunes vs Felicia Spencer Betting Advice

Where does Spencer fit into this picture? She is used to fighting at the higher weights, but we don’t see how the Canadian makes an impact here against the best in the business.

She looked gusty against Cris Cyborg, but this is now a different kettle of fish.

So we have to see a stoppage coming in the first round and a Nunes in Round 1 option is at 13/5* (betting odds taken from Betfair at 21:35 GMT on Thursday, 4th June 2020)

Key Facts – Amanda Nunes vs Felicia Spencer Betting Tip

  • Amanda Nunes has won her last 10 bouts
  • Amanda Nunes is undefeated since 2014
  • Felicia Spencer is going into her 4th UFC bout

The dual weight division champion Nunes is the business and knocking off the likes of Miesha Tate, Ronda Rousey, Holly Holm, Cris Cyborg and Valentina Shevchenko in her current winning streak says it all.

She should have more than enough in the tank to get in and out of this fixture quickly. We can’t see it going beyond one again a relatively green UFC rookie.
