Augsburg will be eyeing off all three points in Sunday afternoon’s clash with lowly Stuttgart as they look to break into the top six of the German Bundesliga, and in turn, contention for a tilt at european football next season.
Augsburg are three points adrift of sixth placed Schalke ahead of this weekend’s matches in the German top flight, but with Schalke playing Hoffenheim, Augsburg may well fancy their chances of stealing a march on Schalke as the hosts look to register a third consecutive league win here.

Stuttgart ended a three match sequence without a win in the Bundesliga last weekend when they secured all three points in a 1-0 home win over Borussia Moenchengladbach, following defeats to Mainz and Schalke and a draw with Wolfsburg.
The visitors occupy 14th place on the league table and are just one point above Mainz in the relegation play-off spot, so they’ll be eager to get something from this match, although they’ve yet to register an away win all season to date within a poor away record of 0-2-9 7/20.
In addition, Stuttgart possess the worst attacking record away from home in the Bundesliga as they’ve failed to score on five occasions, and they’ve lost the most matches away from home as well.
This should therefore be a fairly straightforward win for Augsburg…
