Whilst all the international action is progressing this weekend, there’s also domestic action and my next pick features a clash between Ayr and Morton as the betting tips continue in the Scottish Championship.
Ayr United sit top of the Championship with a four point cushion ahead of second placed Ross County which is thanks to a recent four-match unbeaten sequence in the Scottish second tier which includes wins over Partick Thistle, Alloa Athletic and Falkirk.
Ayr’s home record is also a solid one at Somerset Park which stands at an impressive 5-1-0 15/4 which not only includes three clean sheets but has also seen the hosts score 2 goals or more in 5 of their 6 home matches to date. Striker Shankland has plundered 12 goals already so far this term.
Visitors Greenock Morton occupy 5th place on the Championship league ladder and they’ve won three of their last five matches overall with victories gained over Falkirk and Partick Thistle at home along with a win at Queen of the South.
However, Morton have been unable to put together any meaningful consistent run of results so far this season which has resulted in them sitting in a deserved mid-table position ahead of their trip to face an in-form Ayr United.
In addition, their inconsistent streak has been evident away from home as their away record of 2-2-2 6/9 suggests, and although they registered a 2-1 win at the aforementioned Queen of the South last time out on their travels, they’d previously endured a four match sequence without a win.
My betting tips therefore advise backing the hosts Ayr here for the win.
