The nightmare season for the Brisbane Broncos continued last weekend as they were beaten again.

That’s six losses on the bounce for the fallen giants who just can’t seem to sort themselves out.

They will be facing the Bulldogs this weekend who are also at the wrong end of the ladder.

Will that ford a winning opportunity for the Broncos to lift themselves from their malaise?

Brisbane Broncos Preview – Can Broncos snap losing streak?

A 16-26 loss against the Warriors last weekend saw the Brisbane Broncos fall to their sixth straight league defeat.

Once again that was nowhere near the toughest game that they are going to get this season.

The week before going down against the New Zealand Warriors, the Broncos suffered a loss against the Titans, one of two teams beneath them in the ladder.

So here they are taking on the bottom side in the Bulldogs, who have managed to win once this season.

The fallout of a loss to them would be huge for this club. But the bookies have the Broncos at odds-on at 13/25 to score the win* (odds taken 22:53 GMT Thursday, 9th July)

This is a star-studded Broncos team it is worth reminding punters of. They are just not performing.

One huge boost for the Broncos is that Kotoni Staggs should be fit for this one. The star man hasn’t appeared since round five.

Seeing him in the starting line up is a huge boost for the Broncos, who could end the weekend at the foot of the table with a loss.

Our betting prediction:
Brisbane H/T Winning Margin 1-7

No team has made more ineffective tackles this season than the Broncos have done.

Only the Cowboys have conceded more points this season than they have done as well.

The Brisbane Broncos have conceded an average of 29 points per game in the Premiership this season.

In comparison the Bulldogs, the bottom side, have only conceded an average of 23 points per game.

This is now a huge pressure situation for the Broncos and few would have predicted this shocking decline from them at the start of the season.

Canterbury Bulldogs Preview – Can Bulldogs take their chance

The Canterbury Bulldogs are W1 L7 this season in the Premiership.

It is a four match losing streak that they are currently running on after falling against the Rabbitohs last weekend.

The Bulldogs played well in that but they are just lacking the clinical, cohesive finishing power to take chances.

They are the lowest scoring side in the Premiership averaging only 10 points per game.

They are hard-working, it’s a quality issue with them. For the Broncos they have the quality, they just aren’t working hard enough.

The average losing margin for the Bulldogs this season is 17.4 which is actually far better than the 23 of the Broncos.

But still it’s hard to see them keeping a much-better offense off of the board to claim a win here.

Canterbury Bulldogs have mixed it up well with Brisbane in the recent head to head meetings.

The Bulldogs are W3 D3 in their last six against them in fact but have lost their last four visits to Brisbane.

No team in the ladder has produced more errors than the Bulldogs have managed this season and they have a big injury blow.

Lock Adam Elliott is on the treatment table and he’s been a powerhouse workhorse up front for them. It is a key component lost.

Brisbane Broncos vs Canterbury Bulldogs Betting Advice

We think that the Broncos are going to end their slump in this one. Although a win against the bottom side being a pressure-reliever says a lot about where they are at.

Yes, the Broncos suffered a shock upset against the Titans in round seven, somehow, but surely lessons have to have been learned by Brisbane from that.

Key Facts – Brisbane Broncos vs Canterbury Bulldogs Betting Tip

  • Brisbane Broncos have lost their last six league fixtures
  • Brisbane Broncos are unbeaten in 4 at home against the Bulldogs
  • Canterbury Bulldogs are on a four match losing streak

So we will side with the Broncos as they have done more damage in attack than the Bulldogs have done this season.

Can we see a win coming by a big margin? Not particularly as there has been a fair ding-dong battle between the two in recent fixtures.

But Brisbane have the home advantage and haven’t been beaten at the Suncorp by Canterbury since 2015.

We couldn’t pass on a Broncos -6 at 11/10* (odds taken 22:53 GMT Thursday, 9th July).

Three of their last four home wins over Canterbury have been by more than that.
