Saturday afternoon brings us the bulk of this weekend’s matches from the Premier League and our next preview features the clash between Chelsea and Sheffield United as the betting tips continue at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea Prediction – Can Chelsea gain first home win?
After the first three matches of the new Premier League season, it’s honours even as far as Chelsea are concerned as The Blues have won 1, drawn1 and lost 1 do far this season under their new rookie manager, Frank Lampard.
A 4-0 mauling away at Old Trafford against Manchester United was a tough baptism of fire for Lampard who has been tasked in rebuilding the former team he used to play for as they all continue to come to terms without Eden Hazard, who moved to Real Madrid in the summer.
Chelsea managed to dust themselves off though and have since earned a point in a 1-1 draw at home against Leicester city at Stamford Bridge, and then moved one step better last weekend when they recorded an entertaining 3-2 win away at Carrow Road against Norwich City.
The Blues (and Lampard) will now be hoping they can transfer that win onto home turf this Saturday when they take on another newly-promoted outfit from the Championship, Sheffield United.
Sheffield United Prediction – Can Sheffield United frustrate Chelsea?
The visitors have also recorded a win, draw and a defeat so far in this new Premier League season for Sheffield United upon their return to the top flight, but Chris Wilder’s boys have shown that they can make life difficult for the more established teams in the division, albeit a sneak peek to date.
The Blades earned a solid point away at Bournemouth in their opening match of the new season on the south coast when they held The Cherries to a 1-1 draw, which was followed by a 1-0 home win at Bramall Lane against Crystal Palace.
Although they tasted defeat in last weekend’s 2-1 loss to Leicester City, Sheffield United showed fight and character and they’ll need plenty more of that when facing the likes of the Big 6 and this Chelsea side when they make their way down to London for this encounter.
Sheffield United have lost just 2 out of their last 16 away matches in all competitions and this should galvanize Wilder’s side as they look to try and get something from their trip to Stamford Bridge.
