Crystal Palace Prediction – Can Crystal Palace protect unbeaten home record?
Although Crystal Palace have appeared to disappoint and frustrate so far this season, Roy Hodgson’s team still remain unbeaten at Selhurst Park as they prepare for the visit of newly-promoted Norwich City on Saturday afternoon.
Upon the face of it, Palace have produced mixed results so far this season and that’s generally been true as they’ve returned 2 wins, 2 draws and 2 defeats so far in this new top flight campaign, which has placed them in 12th place in the Premier League prior to this weekend’s action.
Despite this mixed start, The Eagles still remain unbeaten at home with a record of 1-2-0 2/1 which includes draws against Everton and Wolves in 0-0 and 1-1 draws, along with a 1-0 win over Aston Villa.
Goals have been at a premium so far for Palace in their own backyard, but they bring a 5-match unbeaten run on home soil into this clash, as well as dominating Norwich City at home in previous exchanges with Palace being unbeaten at Selhurst Park against Norwich City in their last 16 matches at home in all competitions.
Norwich City Prediction – Can Norwich gain first away win of season?
Norwich City’s claim to fame so far in this new Premier League season is undoubtedly the time they outscored the current title holders, Manchester City, in a 3-2 win at Carrow Road but The Canaries need to be careful that the rot doesn’t set in on the road as the East Anglian outfit have suffered 3 defeats on the trot on the road.
Despite producing attractive and attacking football at Carrow Road which have resulted in two home wins against Newcastle United and Manchester City in 3-1 and 3-2 victories respectively, it’s Norwich’s loose defending, particularly away from home which will be a concern for Norwich manager, Daniel Farke.
Defeats at Liverpool 4-1, West Ham 2-0 and Burnley 2-0 are a worrying start on the road for Norwich and although they’re up against a Crystal Palace side who have found goals hard to come by, the hosts have also kept things tight at the back too.
