Eintracht Frankfurt Prediction – Can Eintracht Frankfurt complete job?

A resounding 5-0 win in last week’s 1st leg in Liechtenstein against Thursday night’s opponents, Vaduz, has placed the German club firmly in the driving seat in this Europa League tie ahead of the return leg in Frankfurt.

Eintracht Frankfurt seemingly therefore have more than just one foot in the play-offs of this competition but they’ll need to ensure they still do a professional job in this 2nd leg in order to make sure of their place in the next round.

Recent form has seen the hosts in supreme command as they’ve won their last 6 matches on the trot in all competitions; pre-season friendly wins over Luzern and Wels have been followed by a 4-2 aggregate win over Estonian outfit, Flora Tallinn in the previous round of the Europa League.

In addition, Eintracht Frankfurt registered a 5-3 win away at Waldhof Mannheim in the DFB Pokal, so the hosts will be bubbling with confidence ahead of this deciding leg in Frankfurt.

This evening’s hosts have played just one match at home this season to date which resulted in 2-1 win against Flora Tallinn, while form on home turf at their Commerzbank-Arena in the Europa League is most impressive.

A 14-match unbeaten run in home ties in the Europa League should see the hosts through here.

Vaduz Prediction – Can Vaduz claw their way back?

Well, the short answer to the above question is that it looks extremely unlikely that the minnows from Liechtenstein will be able to find a way back into this 3rd qualifying round tie against Eintracht Frankfurt.

A 5-0 deficit is extremely tough for any side, let alone a team that has managed to record just 2 wins out of their last 15 away matches in all competitions – and Vaduz will be facing a German Bundesliga club in their own backyard in this tie too.

Following on from last week’s thrashing to their German opponents, the situation got worse for Vaduz as they suffered a 1-0 loss at home to Winterthur in the Swiss second tier on the weekend – if anyone’s confused, Vaduz are situated in Liechtenstein but play in the Swiss Challenge League.

Recent history also appears to be against Vaduz on their travels in the Europa League as the visitors have lost 4 of their last 5 away ties at this level with defeats at Odd BK, Levski Sofia, Zalgiris and Fehervar.

Key-Facts – Eintracht Frankfurt v Vaduz

  • Eintracht Frankfurt are unbeaten in their last 14 home ties in the Europa League
  • Vaduz have failed to score in 6 of their last 9 away ties in the Europa League
  • Vaduz have lost 4 of their last 5 away ties in the Europa League

Betting Tips Verdict

Eintracht Frankfurt are in control here and should gain another shut-out against Vaduz in this 2nd leg.
