The second weekend of the Premier League rolls around on Saturday and our next preview features a clash between Everton and Watford as the betting tips continue at Goodison Park.
Everton Prediction – Can Everton extend unbeaten run?
Having played their last 7 matches in all competitions away from home, Everton will finally be relieved to be returning to home turf at their Goodison park ground where they’ll entertain Watford on Saturday afternoon in their first home match of this Premier League season.
Everton finished last season in reasonable shape as they narrowly missed out on a top seven spot, losing out to newcomers Wolves by a 3 point margin, but a 4-match unbeaten sequence at the end of last season will give The Toffees reason to be confident ahead of this new top flight season.
The hosts finished up with wins against Manchester United and Burnley in 4-0 and 2-0 victories respectively and both at Goodison Park, along with gaining points on the road at Crystal Palace and Tottenham in 0-0 and 2-2 draws.
Toffees manager, Marco Silva, will be keen for his side to make a winning start in this first home match of the season which happens to be against his former club, Watford. Former Watford striker, Richarlison, will be up against his former team-mates, as Everton look to win a fifth home match on the trot.
Watford Prediction – Can Watford bounce back on merseyside?
A heavy 3-0 capitulation at home to Brighton in last week’s opening match of the new Premier League season wasn’t the kind of start that Watford manager, Javi Gracia, had envisaged for his team as they prepared for their season opener at Vicarage Road.
It was certainly a surprising result last week for Watford against Brighton in an outcome that not even the most ardent Brighton fan would have predicted, and they now face a difficult trip up to merseyside as they face off against a solid Everton unit on home turf.
Watford’s task is made even harder by the fact that The Hornets have lost their last 4 matches on the trot in the Premier League having suffered defeats to Wolves, Chelsea and West Ham as well as last week’s loss to Brighton.
