Everton Preview – Will the Toffees seal first league win?
Everton are just one of two teams in the Premier League this season yet to win a game. They kicked off their campaign in the worst possible way, losing to Chelsea and Aston Villa. However, they have made themselves tough to beat since.
After a 2-1 reverse to Steven Gerrard’s Villa at Villa Park, the Toffees have drawn four in a row in the Premier League, battling to stalemates with Nottingham Forest, Brentford, Leeds United and Liverpool. The Merseysiders did manage to beat Fleetwood Town in the EFL Cup, though.
Lampard’s boys will be desperate for their first league victory of the season this weekend. However, they head into this home game as the second favourites with the bookies.
West Ham United Preview – Can the Hammers claim a much-needed three points?
West Ham United have qualified for Europe two seasons in a row via their league position for the first time in the club’s history. They reached the UEFA Europa League semi-finals last term and have won two out of two in this season’s UEFA Europa Conference League. However, they have made a poor start to their domestic campaign.
The Irons have picked up just one victory from their opening six Premier League matches, losing four times along the way. They have shown a slight improvement of late, though, taking four points from games against Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur before the narrow loss at Chelsea in the last one.
