In what is his debut season in Premier League Darts, Nathan Aspinall shook things up last week. He claimed a superb victory over reigning champion Michael van Gerwen.
Glen Durrant however (also in his debut season), secured a great victory on the night in beating Gary Anderson. The newcomers are doing alright.

Aspinall stars in Cardiff
Nathan Aspinall was a heavy underdog for his match against Micahel van Gerwen last week at the Motorpoint Arena in Cardiff.
However, The Asp produced a three-dart average of 101 in the match and that helped him drive towards a 7-5 victory.
That victory moved Aspinall onto a W2 L1 record for the season in the 2020 Premier League Darts. Can he now keep that momentum going and claim a win over a fellow-debutant Glen Durrant?
That is where things just look a little sticky for The Asp. He has lost his two previous meetings with Durrant on the PDC.
The first of those was in Barnsley at a Players Championship event in April last year.
The most recent meeting was in early November last year at the Grand Slam of Darts. Aspinall didn’t even get a leg on the board in a 5-0 whitewash against Duzza.
The positive for Aspinall is that he has looked relaxed in this weekly format. His three-dart average has gotten progressively better each week.
There is also the confidence that he would have garnered from having toppled MVG.
Duzaa ticking along nicely
Glen Durrant has made a solid start to the 2020 Premier League Darts, actually going one better than Aspinall in having stayed undefeated.
Just.
Duzza opened with a win over Michael Smith on week 1. He then had to scrap to save a point against “challenger” Fallon Sherrock in Nottingham in the second round of action.
But to his credit, Durrant looked sharper last week in Cardiff as he claimed a very solid 7-4 win over Gary Anderson.

The difference on the night for Durrant was that he was finding his range with the doubles against the Scotsman. Duzza completed the match with a 97 three-dart average.
His overall three-dart average in the league so far is at 94.82 with Apsinal at 95.26 for his campaign.

This looks like it will be tight and both of these are heading to Dublin on the back of very good wins in round three. Aspinall was right on the money against MVG, but it may be hard for him to replicate that.
