Harlequins are in a very strong position in the top four and are almost confirmed a place in the Premiership semi finals this season.

They did have a winning streak of form snapped last time out however with a loss at Leicester.

But they have a good chance of bouncing back on the weekend as they face a Bath side who have fallen into a slump.

Harlequins Preview – Quins good for a home success

In the last round of Premiership rugby action, Harlequins suffered a 29-35 loss at Leicester.

That saw them miss out on a four match winning streak.

But they return to the Twickenham Stoop on the weekend where they are holding some excellent form.

They have gone undefeated in their last seven league matches there.

It has been a six-match winning streak by Harlequins at the Stoop in league action.

In Premiership rugby betting, Harlequins are a 4/11 odds-on quote to take the win* (odds recorded 00:26 GMT on May 28th, 2021).

The overall home form this season by Quins is W6 D1 L2.

The two losses that they have suffered on home turf were against Bristol Bears and Exeter Chiefs, the current top two.

So there looks to be a reasonable chance of them claiming a win on the weekend.

Another thing that Harlequins will be looking for, is a season double over Bath having won at the Rec 28-15 earlier this season.

If they do, that will be the first time they have done that since the 2015/16 season.

Our betting prediction:
Quins 1-12 winning margin
2/1

Interestingly, Harlequins have lost their last two games at the Stoop against Bath.

They haven’t lost three in a row at home to the West Country side since 1995 however.

A Harlequins -7 handicap is at a quote of 10/11* (odds recorded 00:26 GMT on May 28th, 2021).

Of the six home wins this season for Quins, all but one of them have been by a margin of at least 13 points.

So that -7 handicap looks a feasible rugby betting option for Saturday.

In five of the six home wins, Harlequins have put at least 37 points on the scoreboard.

Given that Bath are badly struggling for form at the moment, there should be points in this for Harlequins who are the league’s top-scoring side this season.

Bath Preview – Can Bath stop the rot?

Bath have fallen on some hard times lately having slumped to a four-match losing streak.

In the last round of action they lost by a four-point margin at home against Sale Sharks.

Bath’s last three games in all competitions have been at the Recreation Ground and they have lost all three.

Granted, the last two in the Premiership have been tough ones against Bristol and Sale.

In the match outright for Saturday’s fixture they are a 2/1 quote to pick up an away win* (odds recorded 00:26 GMT on May 28th, 2021).

The last league win that they took was by a single point over Leicester in mid-April.

Defeat has also befell them in their last two games on the road. The last time that they lost three straight Premiership away games was in April 2019.

After the last round of action, Bath were left 9th in the table and with the worst defensive record of all teams.

They closed out the last round with a -105 points difference for the season.

The overall away record for Bath this is W4 D1 L5.

But when it comes to margins there has been a big trend in the results for Bath on the road.

All five of their away defeats have been by a margin of at least seven points.

A Bath +7 handicap is at a quote of even money for the weekend’s rugby betting* (odds recorded 00:26 GMT on May 28th, 2021).

Bath haven’t managed to score more than 20 points in any of their last three fixtures (all competitions).

They are taking on the league’s top scorers on Saturday away from home and therefore could easily come up short on the scoreboard.

Bath have conceded at least 25 points in five of their nine away fixtures played this season.

So defensive gaps are there, which could get exploited by Harlequins.

Harlequins vs Bath Betting Advice

We have to go with the home win here as Harlequins are on an excellent run of home form.

It’s a big winning streak of form at the Stoop and a Harelquins -7 handicap to 10/11 looks a good punt* (odds recorded 00:26 GMT on May 28th, 2021).

They should be able to keep the scoreboard ticking over well enough to see off Bath.

Key Facts – Harlequins vs Bath Betting Tip

  • Harlequins have won their last six league home fixtures
  • Harlequins are the top-scoring side in the Premiership
  • Bath have won their last two visits to the Stoop

With a four-match losing streak going (three in the Premiership) this is not an easy road game for Bath.

They were soundly beaten on home turf by Harlequins earlier this season and we see the same fate befalling them.

A Harlequins 1-12 winning margin at 2/1 is our big rugby betting tip* (odds recorded 00:26 GMT on May 28th, 2021).
