Huesca Preview – Can Huesca break their duck?
Saturday lunchtime’s hosts, Huesca, are one of only two clubs remaining in the Spanish top flight who have yet to register their first win of this new La Liga season (Real Valladolid are the other team), and as a result, Huesca find themselves in early trouble down near the foot of the table as they sit second from bottom.
Huesca have been involved in five draws though which has at least handed the hosts five points to date this term but defeats against Cadiz, Real Sociedad and Real Madrid – the latter two both being away from home, have outweighed the stalemates.
Huesca are therefore by no means guaranteed all three points in this upcoming clash against Eibar while goals are expected to be few and far between as five of their eight matches to date have been under 2.5 goals, while four of the last six meetings with Eibar have also seen under 2.5 goals.
Eibar Preview – Can Eibar steer clear of bottom three?
After a promising three-match unbeaten run in La Liga which included wins against Real Valladolid and Sevilla (both of which were away from home), Eibar slipped to a 2-0 defeat at home to Cadiz last weekend which has seen the visitors drop down the table to 15th place.
Eibar’s new Spanish top flight season started off in disappointing fashion as the visitors failed to win any of their first four matches of the new campaign, losing three of these four against Villarreal, Athletic Bilbao and Elche respectively.
And although Eibar have won their last two away matches on the trot, the bigger picture shows that the visitors have managed to pick up just four wins out of their last 15 matches on the road in La Liga and Saturday’s encounter at Huesca may not be easy either.
