The first leg of the UEFA Europa Conference semi-final tie between Leicester City and Roma will take place at the King Power Stadium this Thursday night. Before a ball has been hit in anger in the semis, the Foxes are the slight favourites to lift the trophy. However, the bookies are having a tough time splitting all four clubs. Leicester City Preview – Will the Foxes roar to victory at the King Power?
Leicester City were knocked out of the UEFA Europa League in the group stage, finding themselves in the Europa Conference League Round of 32 as a result. Since their demotion to Europe’s third-tier competition, the Foxes have been one of the favourites to lift the trophy.
Leicester beat Randers in the last 32 before seeing off Rennes in the Round of 16. They were paired up with PSV Eindhoven in the quarters, with the first leg at the King Power Stadium ending in a goalless draw. They found themselves 1-0 down in Holland with 13 minutes to go, but late goals from James Maddison and Ricardo Pereira turned the match on its head to put Leicester in their first European semi-final.
Leicester’s form has been iffy in the Premier League, but they have looked strong in Europe at times. Can they put one foot in the Europa Conference League final with a win on home soil this Thursday?
Roma Preview – Can Mourinho mastermind the perfect away display?
Like Leicester, Roma would also want to be competing at a higher level on the European scene. Having said that, Jose Mourinho’s men have been dominant in the Europa Conference this season, winning eight, drawing two and losing two of their 12 fixtures.
The Serie A giants were on the cusp of elimination in the previous round when they fell to a shock 2-1 away defeat in the first leg to Bodo/Glimt. They were much more like their usual selves in the home tie, though, with a Nicolo Zaniolo hat-trick and a Tammy Abraham effort giving the Yellow and Reds a convincing 4-0 win.

Roma have been in good form of late, and Mourinho’s boys will no doubt be formidable opponents over the two legs. At the time of writing, the Italians are priced at 19/20 to qualify.
