Britain’s Emma Raducanu will make her French Open debut on Monday as she steps into first-round action.

Raducanu, who has been struggling with a lot of injury problems this year, lines up as a favourite to win her opening match.

But in it, she faces an exciting youngster in the form of the Czech Republic’s Linda Noskova.

Will Raducanu have it all her own way?

Linda Noskova Preview – Young Czech a future star?

There is always talk of young future stars knocking around the WTA and in Linda Noskova there could be a genuine one.

The 17-year-old landed the junior French Open title 12 months ago.

Now she finds herself in the first round of the main draw of a Grand Slam for the first time.

She has achieved that on the very first attempt.

In the match outright for French Open Tennis odds, Noskova is the 11/5 underdog* (odds recorded 19:21 GMT on May 22nd, 2022 at William Hill).

Noskova has come through three rounds of qualification to get to this point

She beat some decent opposition along the way too.

Noskova got past Anna Blinkova, Conny Perrid and Rebecca Sramkova in the qualifiers.

There was just one set in total dropped by Noskova along the way.

Noskova and Raducuna have never met before and this match does look like an exciting prospect.

Noskova is the youngest player to make the French Open draw since 2009.

The Czech player cracked the WTA top 200 recently.

Her upward swing of form included a title at Croissy-Beaubourg, a W60 tournament on the hard court in France.

Her performance on this classy swing of the season has seen Noskova go W4 L2.

Emma Raducanu Preview – Can Raducanu past tricky test?

This is a tricky opener for Emma Raducanu who is just 2 years older than her opponent.

Raducanu has had a tough time of things since that remarkable US Open title last year.

Like her opponent, she makes her French Open debut in this match.

Raducanu is the 4/11 outright favourite in French Open tennis betting odds* (odds recorded 19:21 GMT on May 22nd, 2022 at William Hill).

She only made her pro debut on clay in Stuttgart earlier this year.

In that event, Raducanu did make it through to the quarter finals.

She also reached the third round in Madrid.

But both of those tournaments came to an end with Raducanu struggling with a health issue.

On her latest appearance, Raducanu bowed out of her first-round match at the Rome Open against Bianca Andreescu because of a back problem.

Emma Raducanu has now played eleven tournaments since winning the US Open last year.

In none of those entries did she manage to win more than two matches.

With all the coaching changes that she went through since that Grand Slam win, it does cast an element of doubt over her.

Raducanu is the 12th seed at this year’s French Open.

But there is something to be wary of in this first-round match against a player who clearly thrives at Roland Garros.

Linda Noskova vs Emma Raducanu Betting Advice

A fit Emma Raducanu should probably be winning this kind of fixture and the pressure will be on her.

She is a Grand Slam champion, but this first full year on the Tour has taken a toll.

It’s nothing to get discouraged about as 2020 French Open winner Iga Swiatek took a good year or so after that breakthrough Slam success to really settle and look at her now.

Key Facts – Linda Noskova vs Emma Raducanu Betting Tip

  • Linda Noskova was last year’s French Open junior Champion
  • Linda Noskova has won three qualification rounds to make the draw
  • Emma Raducanu has not won more than 2 matches in a tournament since winning the 2021 US Open

The French Open tennis odds on the Raducanu 2-1 set score is the pick here at 10/3* (odds recorded 19:21 GMT on May 22nd, 2022 at William Hill).

That’s only because there have been injury issues for Raducanu, which is never great for confidence.

Plus she faces someone who is clearly comfortable at Roland Garros.

Noskova could put an early challenge together as she has some winning momentum behind her from those qualifiers.
