Liverpool’s home record reads an impressive 8-1-0 22/2 which includes a total of no fewer than 7 clean sheets within their total of 9 home matches to date; the addition of former Southampton defender Virgil van Dijk has been a shrewd signing on Jurgen Klopp’s part as his previously leaky defence has been tightened up in impressive fashion.

Arsenal were held to a frustrating 1-1 draw away at Brighton on Boxing Day which prompted Gunners manager to angrily kick a water bottle into the crowd towards the end of the match – Unai Emery is now awaiting the decision from the FA for his actions, but in the meantime he has a tough challenge on his hands at Anfield on Saturday evening.
Although Arsenal have suffered just one defeat from their last 17 matches overall, the visitors are already some 13 points adrift of Premier League leaders, Liverpool, ahead of their trip to Anfield this weekend.
Arsenal possess a reasonable looking away record of 4-3-2 21/16 which includes just one defeat from their last eight matches on their travels which was a surprising 3-2 loss away at struggling Southampton, while recent stalemates with Crystal Palace, Manchester United and Brighton have also held them back from making a serious title challenge so far this term.
