Mallorca know that they need to win to have any chance of staying in La Liga as they face a Granada team who still have an outside chance of qualifying for Europe.

Mallorca Preview – Can Mallorca find a win they need to have any chance of playing in La Liga next season?

It’s very much last chance saloon for Mallorca and their efforts to stay in La Liga. Have won promotion last season, it would be an immediate return to Segunda if they fail to take all three points in what will be their final home game. Currently second bottom, they are four points adrift of safety and ultimately need to win their last two games and hope for favourable results elsewhere. Mallorca’s last game is a trip to face an Osasuna team who – although they’re safe – have won three of their last five games.

They have been able to pick up valuable points of late but the fact they find themselves in their current predicament means it hasn’t been enough as yet and leaves them with a lot of work to do.

Two wins in their last four games (both at home) looks decent enough for a team at the bottom but when you go back further it paints a pretty grim picture. Those two wins are their only successes in the nine games since the resumption, taking just a point from the other seven matches.

The main positive for Mallorca going into tomorrow’s game is their best form has been at home taking seven points from their last three.

Granada Preview – Are Granada set to keep Euro hopes alive and relegate opponents in process?

Whilst opponents Mallorca are perilously close to a swift return to Segunda, Granada have had no such worries having being promoted at the same time as tomorrow’s opponents. Far from relegation worries, there is still an outside chance that Granada could qualify for Europe. They may be 10th at the moment but are still only four points behind sixth placed Getafe. The defeat to Real Madrid at the weekend may just see them short but depending on the make-up of the top six – seventh place could yet mean Europa League qualification.

That defeat against Real was Granada’s third defeat in their last 13 La Liga games which gives an indication of how consistent they have been but also of their resilience.

A real strength of Granada’s season – especially of late – has been their away form. They are unbeaten in their last six on the road, winning three of them. It’s hard to imagine that it’s the same team who lost eight away games in a row between October and the beginning of February.

Granada will finish their season at home to Athletic Club at the weekend whom they are just a point behind at the moment so there is still plenty to play for as they enter the closing stages of what has been a brilliant season to date.

Mallorca vs Granada Betting Advice

These two clubs may have been promoted together but they have enjoyed very different experiences so far. Mallorca have it all to do if they are survive and know they have to win both their final games to have any chance. Whilst it’s just an outside chance for Granada in terms of European qualification, it’s testament to how well they have done that they even have that small chance.

Key Facts – Mallorca vs Granada Betting Tip

  • It’s three home games unbeaten for Mallorca, winning their last two
  • Granada are unbeaten in their last six away games in La Liga – winning three of these
  • It was a narrow 1-0 win for Granada at home to Mallorca earlier in the season

Granada edged victory by one goal in the previous meeting this season and whilst their excellent away form of late would put them in with a chance of doing the double, I’m inclined to go for goals here.

Six of Granada’s last 10 have went over 2.5 goals whilst Mallorca also know they have to take the game to their opponents here which should make for an open contest.
