It’s advantage Tottenham and a large psychological advantage at that, ahead of this early kick-off on Saturday at the Etihad Stadium as Manchester City were sent crashing out of the Champions League by Saturday’s opponents, Tottenham during the week despite the hosts recording a 4-3 win on the night.
Following a narrow 1-0 defeat away at Tottenham in the 1st leg, Manchester City did achieve the win on Wednesday night but conceded an all-important three goals to Spurs who went through to the semi-finals by virtue of the away goals rule.
It’s now back to the business of claiming a league title for Manchester City, and they now need to dust themselves down and go again as they trail Liverpool by two points, but they know that all three points here would see them move top and turn the pressure back on Liverpool again.
City have been in supreme form though at the Etihad as they’ve won their last seven matches on the trot with goals also flowing freely as the hosts have scored a total of 20 goals but have also given their opponents a sniff at goal too and overall at home throughout this season, 10 of their 17 home matches have seen both teams score.

Tottenham Prediction
Despite losing 4-3 away at today’s opponents, Manchester City, Spurs will be jubilant at progressing through to the semi-finals at City’s expense in the Champions League, and they’ll do it all over again in the early kick-off this Saturday as they now look to put a major dent in their hosts’ title ambitions.
Tottenham head into this important Premier League clash having secured recent back-to-back league wins against Crystal Palace and Huddersfield Town, both at home, so, along with the Champions League victory, the visitors will be in confident mood here.
Spurs have showed that they can hurt the title contenders already, but their previous results away from home in the top flight have left a lot to be desired for a team that harbours ambitions for a 3rd place finish.
Tottenham have lost their last four away matches on the trot as they’ve stumbled to losses at Burnley, Chelsea, Southampton and Liverpool amidst an overall away record of 11-0-6 33/21 but although they’re without the services of leading goalscorer Kane (17 goals), the likes of Son (12 goals) and Moura (10 goals) have stepped up to the plate with the former notching a brace against City during the week.
Incidentally, 10 of Tottenham’s 17 away matches have also seen both teams score.
