This weekend sees the return of the Premier League following a brief hiatus due to the international break, but we’re back in full swing on Saturday with Manchester United taking on Leicester City as the betting tips continue at Old Trafford.

Manchester United Prediction – Can Manchester Utd make fresh start?

Saturday’s hosts, Manchester United, ended the first phase of the new Premier League season without a win from their last 3 matches in the top flight prior to the international break which included disappointing draws with Wolves and Southampton, both away from home and both resulting in 1-1 stalemates.

A 2-1 defeat at home to Crystal Palace in between the draws only added to Manchester United’s angst and they’re no longer the team to be feared, especially at Old Trafford, where the level of expectation from their fans have made it difficult for their players to perform at their best, such is the demand of better results.

An opening day 4-0 home win against a new-look Chelsea under the new managership of rookie, Frank Lampard, was perhaps a result that flattered United, but they’ll have their hands full again this Saturday when Leicester City visit.

It’s almost unthinkable, but United have managed to grab just 1 win from their last 9 matches overall in the Premier League and it’s just 1 win out of their last 5 matches at Old Trafford, so the storm clouds could be looming over Manchester again this Saturday.

Leicester City Prediction – Can Leicester City add to United’s woes?

Whilst Manchester United were relieved to be heading into the international break, Saturday’s visitors, Leicester City, would have wanted to carry on as The Foxes had just completed back-to-back wins against newly promoted Sheffield United 2-1 away from home, along with a esounding 3-1 victory against Bournemouth at their King Power Stadium.

Under manager, Brendan Rodgers, ironically known for being a meticulous tactician and tactics within a strict and rigid framework, Leicester have once again become a team to be feared from their Ranieri days, and one of the differences in stark contrast to the Puel era is that striker, Jamie Vardy, is banging in the goals again.

Vardy has notched 3 goals already in this new campaign in the first 4 matches of the season and it’s no coincidence that Leicester City also remain unbeaten so far this term, having drawn with Wolves and Chelsea, before the aforementioned wins over Sheffield United and Bournemouth.

Vardy also has ammunition provided by the creativity of midfielder Maddison and the pinpoint accuracy of crosses delivered out wide from Albrighton to feast upon, and this could spell trouble for Manchester United on Saturday afternoon.

Key-Facts – Manchester United v Leicester City

  • Manchester United have won just 1 win of their last 9 matches overall in the EPL
  • Leicester City still remain unbeaten so far this season in the EPL
  • Manchester United have won 6 of the last 7 meetings against Leicester City

Betting Tips Verdict

Whilst Manchester United have enjoyed near-dominance over Leicester City in previous exchanges, the visitors look a different prospect for United here and could cause an upset.
