Manchester United continued their unbeaten sequence in the Premier League during the week when they registered a 3-1 win away at Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park which extended their run of matches without defeat to 11 matches under caretake-manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Despite this impressive stretch of games without defeat, United still only occupy 5th place and a Europa League spot, such was the ground lost under the previous regime of Jose Mourinho who starved gthe United fans of the attacking football that they’d grown accustomed to under Sir Alex Ferguson.
However, the arrival of former player Solskjaer has lifted the mood around Old Trafford immeasurably and the hosts will look to return to winning ways on home turf following recent frustrating draws with Burnley and Liverpool. United had previously racked up four wins on the bounce with wins against Fulham, Huddersfield Town, Bournemouth and Brighton.
Manchester United possess an improved home record which now stands at 7-5-1 25/16 and with the return to form of midfielder Pogba (11 goals) and Lukaku (10 goals) up front, the hosts should grab the spoils here.

Southampton ended a run of four league matches without a win in the Premier League when they registered a much needed 2-0 home win over Fulham which has lifted the south coast club out of the bottom three ahead of this weekend’s action.
However, a tough assignment beckons for Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side as they make their way up to Old Trafford with a fairly ordinary looking away record of 3-3-8 13/25 under their belts on the road so far this season, although they’ve lost just once in their last five matches on their travels recently.
That defeat was at Arsenal in a 2-0 defeat, and this could be very pertinent as Southampton have failed to win away at top six opposition so far this season, suffering defeats at Liverpool 3-0, Manchester City 6-1 and Tottenham 3-1 and just a point gained thanks to a 0-0 draw at Stamford Bridge against Chelsea.

This will be a test for both teams here – for United, to see if they still have the hunger for a top four finish, and for Saints who are looking to avoid relegation. United’s depth in quality should be the difference here.
