Midtjylland will be looking to close out this second qualifying round second leg against Hungarian side Ferencvaros when they play host at their MCH Arena, having registered a 4-2 win away in the first leg last week.
Goals have been very prominent in recent matches involving Midtjylland as they crushed Irish club Derry City 10-2 on aggregate in the first qualifying round, then scored 4 goals at Ferencvaros, but then found themselves on the end of a heavy 4-0 defeat at Brondby in the opening match of the new Danish Superliga season.
Midtjylland have won their last three Europa League matches though, scoring a total of 14 goals so they’re running pretty hot right now, and they possess dangerous striker Onuachu in their ranks. The home side have lost just twice in their last 10 home matches in the Europa League.
Onto Ferencvaros, and they’ll need to attack from the off in this deciding second leg of the second qualifying round as they find themselves two goals down as they make their way over to Denmark on Thursday night.
The visitors opened their account in the new Hungarian NB 1 season with a 1-1 draw at home with Puskas, but their pedigree at Europa League level isn’t totally convincing as they’ve recorded just three wins from their last nine ties overall.
Drill down a little deeper and you’ll find that Ferencvaros have registered just one away win from their last six away matches at this level, which came in a 1-0 win at Jelgava in the previous round.
With this in mind, Midtjylland should finish the job here tonight.
