Real Valladolid Preview – Could Valladolid spring a huge surprise and get a first win in seven matches?

Real Valladolid are always going to be one of those teams involved at the bottom of the table and it’s no different this season. The previous two campaigns have seen Valladolid finish six points and four points above the bottom three but the situation looks to be more critical this time around. Now 23 matches in, they are third bottom of the table but it is a very crowded section of La Liga.

How damaging the 2-1 loss at home to Levante at the end of January will be to Real’s title chances remains to be seen but it’s the sort of inconsistency and surprise result which blighted the earlier part of the season.

Of course, success at Real is also judged in European terms so the tie with Atalanta could propel them into the quarter finals and from there a chance of winning another Champions League. At this stage though, you would doubt this current group of players are capable of that.
