The French club progressed through to the round of last 16 having dealt with Spanish club Real Betis in a high-scoring tie which saw Rennes register a 6-4 win on aggregate which consisted of a 3-3 draw in the first leg at Roazhon Park, and then they recorded a 3-1 win away at Real Betis in the second leg at the Estadio Benito Villamarín.
Rennes therefore need to be respected here, and with just one defeat from their last eight matches overall in all competitions which was a 2-0 loss away at Reims, but recent wins against Amiens and Saint-Etienne in Ligue 1 along with Coupe de France victories over Lille and Orleans, should give them a big boost ahead of this tie with Arsenal.
The hosts have been in solid form on home turf in recent times too as they’re unbeaten in their last 12 matches in all competitions, while results at home in the Europa League have also been impressive as the hosts have lost just once in their last 13 matches at this level.
Midfielders Ben Arfa (5 goals) and Bourigeud (4 goals) along with forwards Sarr (5 goals) and Niang (4 goals) are the most likely to score for the hosts.

Arsenal progressed through to this round of last 16 in the Europa League thanks to a 3-1 aggregate win against Belarus outfit, BATE, after overcoming a 1-0 deficit in the first leg at the Borisov Arena by recording a convincing 3-0 win at The Emirates in the second leg to eventually win through 3-1.
Arsenal head into this first leg at Rennes having put together a four match unbeaten run which includes wins against BATE 3-0 along with back-to-back wins in the Premier League against Southampton and Bournemouth, along with a point in the recent 1-1 draw with Tottenham in the north London derby.
Overall form in the Europa League has also been solid enough as The Gunners have suffered just two defeats from their last 14 matches overall in the competition which were both away from home at Atletico Madrid and BATE, while results away from home generally have been pretty good as the London club have won five of their last nine on their travels.
Striker Lacazette is suspended for both legs so Aubameyang (16 goals) will lead the line for the visitors.
