Rosario Central registered a useful 1-0 win away from home last Sunday when they made the trip to Union Santa Fe which handed them back-to-back wins following on from their 3-1 home win over Belgrano the week before.
Rosario Central have actually won three of their last five overall with an earlier away win at mid-table Newell’s Old Boys along with a 1-1 draw at home to Sarmiento. Rosario’s overall home record reads a solid-looking 4-6-0 13/8 and although they still remain unbeaten on home turf, I daresay they’ll be looking to capture all three points this afternoon.
Too many stalemates have prevented them from topping the Argentinian top flight as they currently sit in third place seven points adrift of league leaders Boca Juniors.
Third from bottom club Arsenal de Sarandi find themselves just three points ahead of the bottom two clubs in the Primera Division, Nueva Chicago and Crucero del Norte. Much of Arsenal’s limited success this season has been recorded on their home soil where they’ve won all four of their total of four wins to date.
However, away from home has been a very different story as they’ve failed to win a single match on their travels from their 10 away matches so far, losing eight of these and only draws at Lanus and Godoy Cruz (both of which were in 0-0 stalemates) have spared their blushes.
Arsenal go into this afternoon’s encounter on the back of three straight defeats on the road with defeats at San Lorenzo 3-0, Banfield 4-1 and Racing Club 2-1 amidst a poor overall away record of 0-2-8 3/20, being the lowest goalscorers away from home along with Godoy Cruz.
This should point towards a comfortable home win for Rosario Central who should also cover the -1 asian line too in perhaps a 2-0 win.
