Sale scored a great win last weekend as they went to the in-form Bristol and collected a surprise victory.

On paper, this is an easier contest for them as they host the struggling Bath.

Bath’s losing streak was extended last weekend and they are looking in all sorts of trouble at the moment.

Sale Sharks Preview – Sale can post fifth straight win

Last weekend Sale made a difficult trip to Ashton Gate to face the in-form Bistol. The Sharks managed to upset the odds by taking a 20-13 win.

That was the fourth win in a row for Sale Sharks who have hit a great bit of momentum.

There should be more to come as well from the Sharks as they are the 1/4 odds-on favourites in the match outright for rugby betting* (odds taken 2000 GMT, Wednesday 10th February).

Last weekend’s victory left Sale on a W6 L2 record for the season and inside the top four.

They have scored fewer tries than anyone else in the top four this season.

That is five straight victories regardless because of some good defensive work thrown in.

In their home games for this season Sale played between Northampton and Worcester, while losing to Wasps.

All three of those games were settled with a 10-point margin.

Our betting prediction:
Sale 1-10 winning margin
23/10

A bigger line could well be worth playing for in this contest as they are facing a poor Bath side.

A Sale Sharks -11 handicap is at 10/11 in rugby betting* (odds taken 2000 GMT, Wednesday 10th February).

Sale have posted at least 20 points in each of their last five league fixtures.

The Sharks did slip to a 22-37 home loss against Bath last season in the Premiership.

That leaves them at just W1 D1 L3 in their last five games against Bath, home and away.

But this is a great time for them to be facing Bath and getting one over on them, however.

Bath Preview – Bath’s woes continue

Bath’s season took another hit last weekend as they were beaten at the Rec by Harlequins 28-15.

That is a run of five straight defeats for them now.

They are stuck on a W2 L6 record for this season with their only success happening against Worcester.

So Bath, who were a top-four side last season, are really up against it at the moment.

There has been some pretty big defensives issues for them.

Three of their six defeats (the other was a walkover because of a cancelled fixture) have been by a double-figure margin.

Twice already this season Bath have lost by at least a 37-point margin in a game.

So they are low in confidence and they are a big 7/2 quote to win on Friday* (odds taken 2000 GMT, Wednesday 10th February).

In their campaign on the road this season, Bath got their win at Worcester, but have lost against Leicester, Exeter and Bristol.

Bath have conceded more points in fixtures than any other team in the Premiership has done this season.

It’s been a total of 31 tires that they have conceded, which is more than double the amount Sale has.

While they did get that win at Sale last season in the top flight, that is their only win in their last five visits.

Bath looks a long way short of where they would have expected to have found themselves this season.

This is another massively difficult game for a team who have conceded at least 28 points in each of their last four games.

Sale Sharks vs Bath Betting Advice

Baths are in a bad place at the moment. In three of their last four league games, they’ve conceded at least 31 points.

That’s been a dreadful defensive output and their attack has not been firing all that well either, recently.

So we expect them to get toppled and would size up the Sharks -11 handicap at 10/11 as a way into rugby betting for this fixture* (odds taken 2000 GMT, Wednesday 10th February).
