Schalke Preview – Can Schalke end dismal start?
It’s certainly been a tough and ultimately disappointing start to the new German top flight season for Friday night’s hosts, Schalke, as the home side have yet to register their first win of this new Bundesliga campaign which has left them in early trouble down near the foot of the table.

By comparison, Stuttgart have made a great start to this new Bundesliga season as the visitors have lost just once in their first five matches of the campaign and bring a solid looking four-match unbeaten run into this Friday night clash at Gelsenkirchen.
Despite losing their opening match of the season 3-2 at home to Freiburg, Stuttgart have since rallied to put together a decent four-match unbeaten sequence which has helped them up into an early 5th place on the Bundesliga ladder and includes wins against Mainz and Hertha Berlin in 4-1 and 2-0 victories and both have been away from home as well.
Points at home in draws with Bayer Leverkusen and Koln have also contributed to Stuttgart’s early promising start to this new season and the visitors are also unbeaten in their last three away matches too.
