Sevilla Prediction – Can Sevilla continue winning run?

Having made a blistering start to their La Liga campaign despite being handed back-to-back away fixtures to start their Spanish top flight season, Sevilla will be keen to continue their winning streak when they return to their Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán on Friday night.

Sevilla have made an explosive start to this new La Liga season as they’ve registered back-to-back wins on the road at Espanyol 2-0 and a 1-0 win at Granada, and having finished last season with a 2-0 home win over Athletic Bilbao, Sevilla will be going in search of a fourth win on the trot in the Spanish top flight against Celta Vigo.

With the two wins on the trot, this has placed Sevilla top of a very early La Liga table but the hosts will no doubt be keen to improve upon a slightly disappointing 6th place finish at the end of last season, this time around.

Results at home have been pretty steady as Sevilla have won 5 of their last 7 matches in their own backyard, and this includes notable wins against Real Sociedad and Athletic Bilbao, while their recent record at home against Celta Vigo have seen the hosts hold the upper hand as they’ve won the last 4 meetings at home against Friday night’s visitors.

Celta Vigo Prediction – Can Celta Vigo avoid another relegation battle?

Friday night’s visitors, Celta Vigo, found themselves embroiled in a relegation battle towards the end of last season’s La Liga campaign but they avoided the dreaded drop down to La Liga 2 by a 4-point margin above third from bottom club, Girona, who suffered relegation at the end of last term.

This was obviously a narrow escape for Celta Vigo and no doubt they’ll be keen to avoid a repeat of another battle against relegation this term, but with just 2 wins out of their last 7 matches overall in the Spanish top flight, it looks like being another tough season ahead for the visitors.

With just 1 defeat out of their final 7 home matches of last season, Celta Vigo’s form at home was pretty steady towards the end of the campaign, but there’s still a lot of work to do to improve their results away from home; last season’s overall away record of 2-6-11 22/37 included the second worst defensive record on the road in La Liga.

In addition, that poor away record included failing to register a single win from their final 12 matches on their travels where they conceded 2 goals or more in 8 of these 12 matches, as well as failing to score in 6 of these too.

Key-Facts – Sevilla v Celta Vigo

  • Sevilla have won 5 of their last 7 matches in their own backyard in La Liga
  • Celta Vigo failed to win any of their last 12 away matches of last season
  • Sevilla have won the last 4 meetings at home against Celta Vigo

Betting Tips Verdict

Sevilla will be brimming with confidence after posting back-to-back away wins, and they should grab the points here too.
