Slavia Prague have been regular visitors to this stage of European competition in the last few seasons. They reached the quarter-finals of last year’s Europa League before losing heavily to Arsenal in the second leg. Arne Slot’s appointment as Feyenoord coach promised to be an exciting one for the Rotterdam club and it’s certainly proved that way with a potential big end to the season. Having finished top of the section and by a considerable margin, Feyenoord came into the knockout phase at the last-16 stage where they thrashed Partizan 8-3 over two legs.
It has been a terrific campaign to date but there will be a feeling of ‘what if’ if they are unable to at least reach the semi-final stage. With PSV on the other half of the draw it adds further motivation for them to potentially set up an all Dutch final.
