Kenin can get back on track
Sofia Kenin has played two and lost two WTA singles matches since claiming her Australian Grand Slam. Those were losses against Elena Rybakina and Dayana Yastremska. The longer she goes without a win, the more the pressure is going to build.
In her last two matches, it’s not as if she has been terribly out of form. There just hasn’t been the end product from her like there was at Melbourne Park. That Grand Slam success perhaps took a lot out of her. Kenin, 21 years old, has won 79% of service games this season.
Interestingly, Kennin and Diatchenko have met once before. That was back at Wimbledon 2018 and it was the Russian who claimed the win. It was a very convincing win as well, as it was a 6-4, 6-1 victory.
Big test ahead for Diatchenkoa
Vitalia Diatchenko is ranked 107th in the world. So she is going into this match as a big underdog and rightly so. She has played two WTA Tour events this year alongside an appearance in the Australian Open 2020.
She lost her opening match in each of those events. The two WTA Tour losses were against Maria Sakkari while she lost against Danielle Collins in the first round at Melbourne Park. This will be her first match at WTA Tour level since St Petersburg in early February.

In her first-round loss against Collins at the Australian Open and then her match against Sakarri in Russia, Diatchenko took both of those higher-ranked players to three sets. So there has been a bit of a competitive edge there.
It may be a trend worth running with for tennis betting in this one. The Russian was down at the ITF level in Cairo recently, taking a quarter-final finish at the event.
