Swansea City will no doubt be keen to build upon their much-needed 2-1 win away at Crystal Palace last time out in the Premier League here today when they take on high-flying Arsenal at their Liberty Stadium.
That win at Crystal Palace ended a miserable run of four league defeats on the trot to West Brom, Middlesbrough, West Ham and Bournemouth which would have been a very worrying sign for the Swans fans as these were losses against opposition that they would have fancied their chances of picking up points against.
Home form has been a bit of a problem for Swansea too as they find themselves second from bottom in the English top flight with a poor home record of 2-2-6 14/23 and it’s worth pointing out that they’ve conceded the most goals at home in the division to date.
Visitors Arsenal gained what was an unlikely point in the end away at Bournemouth as they trailed by 3-0 to the south coast side but fought their way back to earn a point in a thrilling 3-3 draw. Nevertheless, manager Arsene Wenger will be wondering how his Gunners side weren’t able to take all three points ahead of their trip to Wales on Saturday.
Arsenal have picked up two wins from their last three matches though with recent wins gained against West Brom and Crystal Palace (both at their Emirates Stadium), while their away record of 5-3-2 23/12 could still do with further improvement.
That said, Arsenal possess a strong record away at bottom half opposition so far this season with a record of 5-2-0 20/7 and this record could be extended at the Liberty Stadium this afternoon.
