England are playing for top spot in Group A for the Autumn Nations Cup.

It has been back to back wins for them over Georgia and Ireland so far.

Will Eddie Jones’s men round off with a perfect group stage campaign with a win in Wales?

The Welsh stuttered to a win over Georgia last weekend to get their first points of the campaign.

Wales Preview – Can the Welsh cause an upset?

Under new head coach Wayne Pivac, Wales have had their struggles in 2020.

They returned for the autumn after the long break by taking a hammering against France in a Test match ahead of their final Six Nations fixture.

In that final Six Nations fixture, they were playing host to Scotland.

Wales suffered a loss in that one, making it five defeats on the spin in international rugby.

They were also battered out of sight on a trip to Dublin to face Ireland in the opening Autumn Nations Cup fixture in mid-November

Wales suffered a 32-9 loss in that game, not managing to get a try on the board and giving up a ton of penalties.

But their losing streak ended last weekend as they hosted Georgia.

It was only an 18-0 victory that Wales took, a try four minutes from time (the second of the match for Wales) from Rhys Webb bumping up the scoreboard.

It was another poor, stuttering and invoicing display by them however.

Our betting prediction:
England 8-14 Winning Margin
13/5

Wales are heavy 5/1 underdogs in the match outright for this fixture on Saturday against England* (odds taken 19:17 GMT Wednesday, 25th November).

During this year’s Six Nations and lost 33-30 at Twickenham against England.

They have managed to get to W2 L2 in their last four matches against England, winning their last two on home soil.

This fixture is being played at the Parc y Scarlets, Llanelli. But with an unconvincing defence and limited options in attack. Wales are expected to suffer a loss.

England Preview – Red Rose can take the win in Llanelli

England are looking like a relentless power unit at the moment.

They have dominated a lot with defence and sheer power and pace through their pack.

They completed a victory over Italy in their final Six Nations game to lift the Championship title.

Then they came straight out and took a 40-0 victory over Georgia in their opening Autumn Nations Cup.

Hooker Jamie Goerge scored a hattrick in that fixture.

Then England followed up with a convincing 18-7 win over Ireland at Twickenham to keep themselves on course for the group win.

Winger Jonny May was the star of the show there, scoring both of England’s tries.

But again, it was more about how England can destroy teams by shutting them down that was the big feature of the game.

They are an extraordinarily tough side to take on up front and that is where they are likely to dominate against Wales.

In rugby betting in the match outright, England are 1/8 odds-on* (odds taken 19:17 GMT Wednesday, 25th November)

An England -15 handicap is at 10/11 and shows the expected gulf in class and current form between the two nations* .(odds taken 19:17 GMT Wednesday, 25th November).

But this is a road game and that wide of a margin does look to be a little on the riskier side.

The biggest margin of victory recorded by England in their last six wins over the Welsh has been 14 points for reference.

We expect them to come away with the victory in this one and it may be all based on the back of their far superior forward play.

Wales vs England Betting Advice

England are on a strong upward curve of form at the moment and they are the ones carrying winning momentum forward with them.

But we don’t see this being a big margin, so we would rather swing with the Wales +15 handicap at 10/11*(odds taken 19:17 GMT Wednesday, 25th November).

We saw last weekend when England were in a commanding position against Ireland, they were happy to play defence, not put their opponents to the sword.

Key Facts – Wales vs England Betting Tip

  • Wales are W2 L2 in their last four against England
  • Wales have taken just one win in their last seven internationals
  • England have scored 8 tries in their two Autumn Nations Cup matches

With that in mind an England 8-14 winning margin looks to be a reasonable rugby betting option at 13/5 odds* (odds taken 19:17 GMT Wednesday, 25th November).

The Welsh are just not there in terms of overall gameplay quality at the moment.

They are very slack in defence and are not likely going to stand up to the power that England can deliver up front over the course of the match.
