West Ham Prediction

Just two league positions and two points separate West Ham from their visitors Brighton ahead of this important clash, and West Ham will be keen to bounce back from their disappointing 2-0 defeat at Burnley on the weekend with a win over the south coast club this evening.

Just when you thought West Ham were embarking upon something special with four league wins on the trot with victories against Newcastle United, Cardiff City, Crystal Palace and Fulham, The Hammers then promptly lost 2-0 at home to Watford, and although they recorded a 2-1 win away at Southampton, the hosts lost again in their next match.

That was the Burnley loss, but West Ham return to the London Stadium for this encounter where they’ve posted a record of 4-1-5 14/16 with three wins from their last five on home turf. There’s still a lot of work ahead for Manuel Pellegrini’s boys but midfielder Anderson (8 goals) along with forward Arnautovic (5 goals) should help things here.

Brighton Prediction

Brighton sit just two positions below West Ham in 13th place and two points adrift of West Ham going into this clash at the London Stadium. The visitors ended what was becoming a worrying three-match losing streak which included defeats to Burnley, Chelsea and Bournemouth when they earned four points from their subsequent two matches during the Christmas period.

A 1-1 draw at home with Arsenal was followed by a very welcome three points with a 1-0 home win over Everton which has now put some daylight and a 10 point cushion above the bottom three in the Premier League.

Brighton will therefore be in a much more positive frame of mind when they make their way to London to face West Ham on Wednesday night but the fact still remains that Chris Hughton’s side continue to struggle away from home.

An ordinary looking away record of 2-1-7 7/16 includes four defeats from their last five matches on their travels with losses at Everton, Cardiff City, Burnley and Bournemouth and just the one win at bottom club Huddersfield Town to show for their efforts.

Betting Tips Verdict

West Ham have produced somewhat Jekyll and Hyde performances in recent weeks but they should have enough to see off a poor travelling Brighton side here.
