Wolves Prediction

Wolves’s encouraging five-match unbeaten run in the top flight was ended in abrupt fashion when they lost 1-0 away at bottom club Huddersfield Town during the week which saw the Yorkshire outfit do the ‘double’ over Wolves having registered a rare 2-0 win at Molineux earlier in the season.

Wolves had previously strung together a five match run without defeat as they racked up wins against Leicester City 4-3, West Ham 3-0 and a 3-1 win away at Everton along with points picked up against Newcastle United and Bournemouth, both in 1-1 draws.

The hosts possess an improved home record of 6-3-5 20/19 which has been boosted by a recent three-match run without defeat which was a welcome turnaround following previous back-to-back defeats to Liverpool and Crystal Palace.

The newly promoted west midlands outfit have impressed many people with their attacking style of play this season, and this has particularly been evident at Molineux as the hosts look to confirm their position of being the ‘best of the rest’ outside the top six.

Forward Jimenez (10 goals) looks the most likely to score for the hosts.

Key-Facts – Wolves v Cardiff City

  • Wolves are unbeaten in their last 3 matches at home in the EPL
  • Cardiff City have lost their last 2 matches on the trot
  • Cardiff have failed to score in 6 of their 13 away matches to date

Cardiff City Prediction

Cardiff City dropped down back into the bottom three of the Premier League due to a heavy 3-0 defeat at home to Everton during the week which looked like being a much closer contest ahead of the match, and that’s now back-to-back defeats for The Bluebirds who previously suffered an even heavier 5-1 loss to Watford last weekend.

Cardiff had earlier been swept along on the emotional tide that they experienced surrounding the disappearance and subsequent death of their new signing, Emiliano Sala, as the visitors had put together back-to-back wins against Bournemouth and Southampton, but the tragic events may well have caught up with the Welsh side as they look to avoid a third consecutive loss here.

An away record of 2-2-9 9/24 looks some way short of Cardiff being able to cause Wolves serious problems, especially with a lack of goals under their belts on the road which has seen Cardiff fail to score in 6 of their 13 away matches to date.

Betting Tips Verdict

Wolves will no doubt be keen to bounce back from their disappointing midweek defeat at Huddersfield Town, and will be eyeing off all three points here against a poor Cardiff outfit.
