Wolves Prediction – Can Wolves hold their nerve?

A 3-2 win away in Italy in last week’s 1st leg of this Europa League play-off tie with Torino might just be the ticket that Wolves require to make it through to the group stages of the Europa League and now just 90 minutes separates them from the next stage.

Wolves now return to Molineux for this 2nd leg where they’re unbeaten in their last 16 matches in all competitions, which include recent home leg wins over Irish outfit, Crusaders and Armenian side, Pyunik, which the west midlands club saw off in 2-0 and 4-0 victories respectively.

Although they hold a 3-2 lead ahead of this deciding and crucial leg, they’ll be pushed all the way by their Italian opponents here, and can expect Torino to come at them early on in order to restore parity as soon as possible.

The major thing in Wolves’s favour is the fact that the hosts scored a very valuable 3 goals on the road in the 1st leg, and the away goals rule looks to be on manager, Nuno Espirito Santos’s side as he prepares his side for arguably their biggest 90 minutes of the club’s recent history.

Torino Prediction – Can Torino push Wolves all the way?

I strongly suspect Torino weren’t quite expecting the sort of match that they experienced against Wolves in last week’s 1st leg of this Europa League play-off tie at their Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino, with the scores ending in a 3-2 defeat.

The Italian visitors know they have nothing to lose in this 2nd leg as they search to open the scoring which would make it a very interesting battle in the west midlands, and no doubt they’ll be keen to test the nerves of Wolves despite their hosts holding home advantage at Molineux.

Following that defeat in the 1st leg, Torino immediately bounced back with a 2-1 home win over Sassuolo in Serie A which will give them a boost ahead of this return leg, while the visitors have suffered just 2 defeats out of their last 21 matches on the road in all competitions.

Interestingly, 13 of Torino’s last 21 away matches have also seen both teams score and as they need to press forward here and Wolves are always on the front foot at Molineux, we could see both teams hit the back of the net in this 2nd leg too.

Key-Facts – Wolves v Torino

  • Wolves are unbeaten in their last 16 matches at home in all competitions
  • Torino have lost just 2 of their last 21 matches on the road in all competitions
  • 13 of Torino’s last 21 away matches have also seen both teams score

Betting Tips Verdict

Both Wolves and Torino possess decent records at home and away respectively, so we could see both teams score again on Thursday night.
