Online betting exchange Betfair have stepped up their level of support for Scottish Racing by expanding their Scottish Racing Series. Two additional National Hunt flat races have been added in, and the prize money being offered up on Finals Days, has more than doubled from £30,000 to a total of £75,000.

The culmination of the Scottish Racing Series will be the Finals Days, which are going to be worth £15,000 each. There will be five Finals Days at Ayr, Hamilton Park, Kelso, Musselburgh and Perth, all of which will run between May 7th and October 11th, 2014.

The Finals Days will come after sixty qualifying races which will be hosted over both Flat and National Hunt formats across all five of Scotland’s racecourse. The qualifying races will be for class 4, 5 and 6 horses.

All horses which run in a Betfair Scottish Racing Series Qualifying Race will qualify for the respective Final.

The dates for the finals are:

• Steeplechase Final at Kelso on Wednesday 7 May 2014

• Flat Sprint Final at Hamilton Park on Tuesday 2 September 2014

• Hurdles Final at Perth on Thursday 25 September 2014

• Flat Mile Final at Ayr on Tuesday 30 September 2014

• Flat Stayers’ Final at Musselburgh on Saturday 11 October 2014

Bill Farnsworth, on behalf of Scottish Racing, said “The Betfair Scottish Flat Racing Series held across Ayr, Hamilton Park and Musselburgh was very well received by Horsemen in 2013 and so we are delighted that Betfair are not only repeating the Flat Series but adding a Hurdle and Steeplechase Series with Finals across all the Scottish Racecourses.”

Betfair’s PR Manager, Barry Orr, added: “Betfair has made a long term commitment to support the grassroots of British racing and is once again thrilled to be sponsoring Scottish Racing. These five series offer a fantastic opportunity for horses in class 4, 5 and 6 and we hope owners and trainers will take advantage of competing for the increased prize money on offer.”
