Bookmaker, BetVictor have made a return to snooker sponsorship as they have taken up the sponsorship of the English Open, starting with this year’s event which starts on October 15th and runs through to the 21st.
From 2013 BetVictor had sponsored the Welsh Open for four straight years to put their weight behind the sport. The English Open is the first of the season’s Home Nations series which will also see tournaments in Belfast, Glasgow and Cardiff. If a player can win all four in a single season there is a massive £1m bonus up for grabs.
Among the top stars in the field, there will be Mark Selby, Mark Williams, Judd Trump and John Higgins. The format of the tournament is a straight knockout draw with 128 players starting the evening.
