Georgia News and Form – Can Georgia get home win over Denmark?

The way that things look it is unlikely that Georgia are going to Euro 2020 through the automatic qualification route. They do have a backup plan of holding a playoff spot though, as they did win their Nations League group. It is a three-point haul only that they have taken from their group fixtures so far, their one success coming against bottom side Gibraltar. Georgia did not have a competitive game in midweek, instead, they played out a 2-2 draw in a friendly against South Korea.

It has only been the one win for Georgia since they finished their successful Nations League campaign. Since then it has been a W1 D1 L3 record. One positive that they can take with them into this is that they have hit the back of the net in each of their last three games, but three of their four goals in the European Championship qualifier group were scored in their win over Gibraltar. Georgia have gone W3 L1 in their last four home qualification matches, which isn’t bad on the surface. Two of those wins were against Gibraltar though. The other was against Scotland.

Denmark News and Form – Can the Danes secured crucial away win?

There is a little bit of pressure on Denmark here. They have taken a W2 D2 record so far in the group, which leaves them three points behind leaders Ireland. However, the Danes do have a game in hand over the Irish. But they have played a game more than third-placed Switzerland who are only three points back. So Denmark are trying to defend second place on the weekend. In midweek they took on Giubtralat and posted a comfortable 6-0 win over the minnows. That took Denmark’s goal tally in the group to 15 goals in 4 games.

It is a 10 match undefeated streak of form that the Danes are currently one, with a W5 D5 record in that sequence. Defensively they were really sound through their World Cup 2018 qualification campaign and in the Nations League. But they are just starting to show signs of weakness at the back. Denmark have conceded in four of their last five games. Denmark have scored at least two goals in four of their last five European Championship qualifiers.
